We support a number of mission activities in and around Valentine and the surrounding Sandhills, across the state, nationally, and around the world. The following are a just a few of the ways we help to support, strengthen, and grow God’s kingdom.

Church Forward Annual Offering

Formerly known as the Viola Webb Missions offering, Kansas-Nebraska Southern Baptists traditionally collect the this offering in the fall. The offering is named for the late Viola Webb, who directed Kansas-Nebraska Woman’s Mission Union from 1957 to 1982. The offering helps support Kansas-Nebraska church planting, work of college campuses, church health and disaster relief.

Lottie Moon Christmas Offering

The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is an annual offering collected by Southern Baptists to support international missions. The offering was officially named in 1918 by Woman’s Missionary Union in honor of the missionary to China who urged churches to start it and give sacrificially. One hundred percent of the offering goes directly to international missionaries serving in the field.

Operation Christmas Child

The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children around the world. Through this project, Samaritan’s Purse partners with the local church worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of all nations.

Annie Armstrong Offering

The Annie Armstrong Easter Offering is the primary way Southern Baptists support mission efforts in North America. One hundred percent of the gifts given are used to support more than 2,200 missionary families serving across the United States and Canada.

The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) Cooperative Program

The Southern Baptist Convention came into existence in 1845; the Cooperative Program was introduced as the preferred method of giving eighty years later in 1925. Since then, most SBC churches have followed the suggested wishes of the Convention by contributing through the Cooperative Program as their principal way of demonstrating unified support for all areas of SBC efforts toward furthering the gospel around the globe.

Disaster Relief

Southern Baptist Disaster Relief (DR) is a hands-on ministry provided by trained members of local churches to those affected by disasters of every kind. Our mission is to represent Jesus by bringing His help, healing, and hope to individuals and communities beset by the crisis, chaos, and confusion of natural and man-made calamity.
